Somewhere w/ Nia

You are originally from PG, and you recently just moved back from Boston; I feel like those places are complete opposites, but how have these two places influenced you?

I didnt realize it until for I left for good but PG really is a special place. Growing up in PG honestly gave me the confidence to hold my own in any room or situation. We know that Boston has a history and in ways still does have deep rooted systemic issues but honestly there is a beautiful creative community out there. Its easy to find yourself feeling like an outsider there but once you find a community that you want to be apart of, its hard to not love the city. The same way I have my tribe here, I was able to create one there with genuine people. If I didnt have my friends and family out there I definitely dont think I would have lasted 5 years but honestly finding the beauty and fun in all the places that I have traveled to

Did you always want to work in music//partnerships? Was there any specific moment that made you say “ I am loving what you I am doing?”

I mean I’ve always loved music and I have always loved making friends and connecting with people. So really the two go hand in hand. I love finding new music and artists and just diving deep into various catalogues. I’ve honestly just loved the journey of working with different artists and creatives on projects. Every project is a completely new experience and that is the part that I honestly love. I love that I never get bored.

What are you aiming to accomplish with your creative work?

Everything that Im working on currently has some type of community aspect to it. I want to focus on creating experiences and opportunities for the communities that I am working in, whether that be Boston, NYC or DC. I want all of the projects to mean something

What has been your favorite project you have worked on in the last 2 years?

I don’t have a favorite project because everything has been amazing to work on but if anyone reading this is planning to visit Boston, I suggest checking out a SuperSmashBroz, or Allyoucaneat event. You won’t regret it :)

What would you say to your younger self, based on who you are right now?

I would say “You are doing great sweetie” with a cute little wink

What are you looking forward to this year?

This year Im looking forward to working on projects with my friends! Everyone is working on cool stuff and I am really just excited for what everyone is going to create.

What practices do you have that help you stay grounded and connected to self, since you are always on the move?

Making sure the people that are around me, are the right ones. I really have so much love for my friends! They inspire me and always push me to do better. Each and everyone is doing what they love and I admire it so much. We put each other on and that right there is unmatched.

Put us on! What should be on our radars right now?

All Massachusetts based artists that should be on everyones radar right now.
